COVID-variants, vaccines and Africa’s public health sector, in conversation with Prof Tulio de Oliveira.
Prof De Oliveira is a bioinformatician and director of the KZN Research Innovation and Sequencing Platform (KRISP) at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. His identification of a new variant of SARS-CoV-2 in South Africa has led to the discovery of new variants across the world.
The discussion will be led by Prof Hugh Patterton, Director of the Centre for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at Stellenbosch University.
