2020 will be the 10th year that the Streetmile is happening!
The race is in memory of De Villiers Lamprecht. He was the first SA athlete to run a Dream Mile on 13 November 1964 at Coetzenburg, Stellenbosch. Lamprecht is a SU Alumni and also an ex Dagbreek resident.
There will be 7 races with 13 different categories:
• The PNA Schools Race for boys and girls 0/13, 0/15 & 0/19
• The MASTERS category is for athletes above 45. But the
big participation will be the OPEN men’s and women’s
category
• The only Skateboarding Streetmile in South Africa is also part of this event. During the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo Skateboarding will be part of the Games for the first time ever.
• The big race will be the Elite races for men and women.
Ryan Mphahlele ran the second Dream Mile in 2018.
(Johan Cronje 2015).
With a DJ, music and guest artist, THE UNKNOWN (from the reality series MAAK MY FAMOUS), it promises to be a festive event. The Street Mile forms part of the US Woordfees.
