Johannesburg here we come

17 November 2021 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

  • « Pretoria Maties Alumni Launch
  • Simonsig: Maties wine club »

After a tough year of uncertainty, lockdowns and social distancing, we think that now is the right time to bring Maties alumni in Johannesburg together for the official launch of our newly established Alumni Chapter in the area.

The Johannesburg Alumni Committee invites Maties from different industries, interests and walks of life to join us for a relaxing evening to connect, network and relive some Maties memories.
This get-together will take place on Thursday, 17 November at The Copper Bar in Bryanston. We anticipate the magic of being out in the open air, enjoying drinks and conversation with friends, old and new, whilst looking out as the sun disappears behind the majestic Magaliesberg mountain range.

Please join us!

The event details are as follows:
Date: Thursday, 17 November 2021
Time: 17:30 for 18:00
Venue: The Copper Bar, 2 Payne Road, Bryanston (Directions)
Cost: Free
RSVP: Kindly email alumnihubs@sun.ac.za by 15 November.

But wait, there’s more!
Calling all cycling enthusiasts … Enter the iconic 947 Ride Joburg taking place on Saturday, 21 November 2021 and take on the open road in support of Stellenbosch University’s Bridge the Gap Annual Fund campaign. Bridge the Gap aims to support students who are vulnerable to food insecurity, struggling to pay student fees, and in need of wrap-around support.

If you are interested in joining our Matie team, please contact Siya Ndlovu at ndlovus@sun.ac.za as soon as possible. He is your man with all the details. Registration closes on 5 October 2021. Also invite your colleagues, friends and family to ride along or make a donation.
