The Development and Alumni Relations Division at Stellenbosch University and the University of Stellenbosch Business School warmly invite you to an online event on Wednesday, 9 June 2021. Dr Morne Mostert, Director of the Institute for Futures Research (IFR) and member of the Club of Rome and Dr Njeri Mwagiru, Senior Futurist and head of the African Futures desk at the IFR, will lead a discussion on The future of Afro-European/UK Relations.
An investigation of the future generates new opportunities and perspectives. It creates a space for imagining innovation and reinvention. At the same time, the present is almost always the product of an imperfect past, which lingers relentlessly, and this is particularly true in the case of Afro-European relations.
In this session, Dr Morne Mostert will introduce this dialogue from the perspective of revisiting perceptions of value, values and valuations for reimagining alternative Afro-European relations. Dr Njeri Mwagiru and Dr Mostert will investigate options and opportunities for a new balance in relations between the regions in an attempt to transcend the past and explore alternative possibilities.
The future of Africa’s commercial, social and political relations with the global north is due for an upgrade. Whether you are in business, government or civil society, join us as we interrogate perceptions and provide an update of possibilities.
