Covid-19: Maties facing an unprecedented challenge

Dear fellow Maties in the UK and Republic of Ireland

Our countries are facing an unprecedented challenge in COVID-19.

Likewise, our friends and families back home in South Africa are bracing for the significant impact of this pandemic.

I can only begin to imagine how some — if not all —  of you are feeling being away from your wider families during this difficult time.

As such, during this period, be mindful and access information from appropriate sources, such as the UK NHS site https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/, which is very useful.

Moreover, take the necessary precautions to keep yourselves and your immediate family safe. Practice appropriate social distancing and self-isolation where needed.

If you do find yourself isolated and in need of assistance, I know I might be hundreds of miles away, but get in touch with me, we have a large Maties Network in the UK and Ireland – I am sure we will find help close to where you are.

Do follow us on social media and Maties Connect where we hope to add more virtual tours and events in the coming months.

The alumni team in South Africa and other parts of the world are working remotely, we are just an email away if you have any questions.

Thank you for your patience and commitment. We appreciate your continued support.

Sterkte Maties – ons sal oorwin!
Matie regards
