End Gender-Based Violence (GBV)

16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) is an annual global campaign that begins on 25 November, which is International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. It continues until 10 December, which is International Human Rights Day.

At Stellenbosch University (SU), we join in this campaign by acknowledging and celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and their unceasing efforts in the fight for gender equality.

The SU alumnae featured during our #EndGBV campaign come from all spheres of life and represent but a fraction of hundreds of women across the globe who are at the forefront to ensure that women and girls be safe and protected from all forms of violence.

So, Maties, for these 16 days, we’re encouraging all of you (alumni, staff, donors, and friends of SU) to become involved. How could you do that? Help us amplify the voices of our SWAN activists supporting women’s organisations and strengthening feminist movements.

Get started today by sharing visuals and messages from our 16 Days campaign.
