2026: A Year to Reconnect, Celebrate and Make an Impact

The 2026 Alumni Events Calendar is now live, with more than 150 events planned across South Africa and around the world. From reunions and chapter gatherings to flagship celebrations, there are many opportunities to reconnect and remain part of the Matie story.

A highlight of the year is Homecoming 2026, where alumni will return to campus to celebrate significant milestones, including 100 years of Monica and Maties Netball, 50 years of Nemesia Residence, and 90 years of the University Choir.

Maties are also invited to get involved in meaningful ways throughout the year. Through #Move4Maties, alumni will once again take part in South Africa’s iconic races to raise funds for student support. The #GivingMaties initiative offers opportunities at events worldwide to contribute towards student success and dignity.

With 52 alumni chapters in more than 25 countries, the global Matie network continues to grow. Whether you are nearby or abroad, there is a chapter, event or initiative waiting for you.
