A behind-the-scenes tour

10 December 2022 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

  • « EMS graduation ceremonies
  • Berlin: Invitation: Christmas get-together »

The Stellenbosch Women Alumnae Network (SWAN) in London, is excited to invite you to join them for a guided and narrated behind-the-scenes of the Natural History Museum (NHM), with fellow alumna, Hester van Schalkwyk, and fellow South African, Ronel Verwoerd.

We will start off our morning by talking to Hester about her role as a postdoctoral research associate and her research into host-microbe interactions that could lead to sustainable agricultural practices.

Read more about Hester HERE

Thereafter, Ronel will tell us about the history and architecture of this very special building and its contents (NHM), and you can look forward to a riveting behind-the-scenes tour to see how (and why) the NHM stores 23 million specimens in alcohol in the Spirit Building.

Sadly, this event is limited to 20 people. Please show consideration when booking your space. If you book but do not turn up, you will have prevented someone else from experiencing this event.
