The Stellenbosch Women Alumnae Network (SWAN) in London, is excited to invite you to join them for a guided and narrated behind-the-scenes of the Natural History Museum (NHM), with fellow alumna, Hester van Schalkwyk, and fellow South African, Ronel Verwoerd.
We will start off our morning by talking to Hester about her role as a postdoctoral research associate and her research into host-microbe interactions that could lead to sustainable agricultural practices.

Thereafter, Ronel will tell us about the history and architecture of this very special building and its contents (NHM), and you can look forward to a riveting behind-the-scenes tour to see how (and why) the NHM stores 23 million specimens in alcohol in the Spirit Building.
