NOTICE TO MEMBERS OF SU CONVOCATION
ELECTION OF ONE (1) COUNCIL MEMBER FOR THE TERM 11 Sept 2023 TO 10 Sept 2027
On 18 July 2023 members of Convocation of Stellenbosch University (SU) were invited to submit nominations for the election of one (1) member of Convocation in the above vacancy. Seven (7) candidates were nominated for the vacancy. We call on members to participate in the election by casting their vote.

Voting will take place on an online platform. The voting platform opens on Monday, 28 August 2023 at 08:00. Please click here to access the voting platform.

ELECTION RULES
- Voting will take place on an online platform only.
- Members have ten (10) calendar days to cast their vote digitally. The voting platform will open on Monday, 28 August 2023 at 08:00 and close on Thursday, 7 September 2023 at 23:59.
- Members will be allowed to vote once only, and once the vote is submitted it is final.
- Members can vote online for one (1) candidate, as there is one (1) vacancy only.
- Nobody may vote on behalf of another member.
- By voting online the member assumes responsibility for compliance with the election rules and the Procedure to nominate, elect and appoint Convocation Members to serve on the Council and Institutional Forum.
Transgression of the rules amounts to fraud. The Internal Audit function may investigate all cases where fraud is suspected.
We placed some additional cyber security on the voting platform. If you are experiencing any difficulties with navigating the voting platform, please reach out to elections@sun.ac.za.
It was optional for nominees to provide a CV or short bio. SU did not provide any template, prescriptions or guidelines on the format for this additional information. All nominees opted to share more information to enable members to know them better. Please note that no editing or translations of any vision statement, CV or bio were done by SU. The wording was placed as we received it.
