Join Prof Thuli Madonsela In Walking To End Student Debt

On Saturday 28 November 2020  Prof Madonsela and the Student Representative Council (SRC) Chairperson, Xola Njengele, are leading a trail walk in Idas Valley starting from Rustenberg Wines in Idas Valley walking through Idas Valley community into Banhoek Conservancy and ending at Bartinney Tasting Shed.

This event  form part of the #Action4Inclusion Campaign, a student funding initiative established earlier this year by the SRC and Prof Madonsela, in an effort to ensure that no student is left behind due to their financial circumstances.

The initial Pniel Walkathon that was scheduled has been postponed to 2021.  All funds raised at this event will go towards the scrapping of debt for working class and middle-class income household students who are struggling to pay their fees.

Reflecting on the campaign, Madonsela said “words cannot express the depth of gratitude we have for the overwhelming public support for our #Action4Inclusion to eradicate student debt. Our next move is a #walkathon in Idas Valley, Stellenbosch on Saturday 28 November 2020.”

Tickets cost  R54 per person for the Walkathon and can be purchased by depositing the  amount into the following #ActionforInclusion account:Bank: Standard Bank

End: 10:30am –  Bartinney Tasting

The terrain will be:
Tar: about 500m
Jeep track gravel: about 7km
Single track walking: about 5km
Very little Rocky ground.
