#SWAN: Karin Kleinbooi appointed as Executive Manager: Transformation and Development at South Africa Wine

South Africa Wine proudly announces the inclusion of Karin Kleinbooi as the Executive Manager: Transformation and Development. This newly incepted role will be pivotal in streamlining all activities pertinent to transformation and development in the South African wine industry.

Kleinbooi, with her rich background in agricultural development, is resolute in spearheading positive change. Her expertise in sustainable agriculture makes her an ideal fit for the role.

As part of her responsibilities, Kleinbooi will be at the helm of instigating transformative changes across the wine and brandy industry’s value chain. With a focus on land reform, people, skills development, and socio-economic enhancements, she is also set to emphasise responsible consumption while offering advisory services to the organisation’s members.

Kleinbooi’s educational journey includes a Bachelor of Social Work from the prestigious Stellenbosch University. She further pursued an MPhil in Land and Agrarian Studies. Her passion for sustainable practices is reflected in her extensive experience in rural development. Starting in research, she traversed roles as a social auditor in the wine domain, subsequently becoming an independent consultant on a myriad of subjects, including global food systems and climate programmes. Her previous stint as the senior regional programme manager at Solidaridad Southern Africa has added to her repertoire.
