Stellenbosch University and the Stellenbosch Business School, in collaboration with the Trinity Business School in Dublin, Ireland, invite you to celebrate Africa Day 2023 with us.
In a world often divided around political ideology, Africa Day is the celebration of coming together as Africans, regardless of ideology and affiliations. It is a day when the people of Africa celebrate their identity and common purpose to unite, foster peace and improve the livelihoods of all, across the continent.
Within the context of the African Union’s 2023 theme for Africa Day: Africa – Opportunities in Challenging Times, the celebrations will center around a panel discussion entitled: Invest in Africa for Sustainable Leadership and Development. The moderator is Professor André Roux, renowned African economist, and head of the Future Studies Programmes at the Stellenbosch Business School.
The panel will discuss aspects such as investing in Africa; resource-rich African States and how they can be empowered in the energy transition; linkages of energy transition with sustainable energy in Africa; the green economy; investing in sustainable energy in Africa; and how we can contribute to this partnership.

The opening address will be delivered by His Excellency Lahcen Mahraoui, Ambassador of Morocco to Ireland and Dean of the African Diplomatic Corps.
