You are warmly invited to the Maties Wine Club’s special Homecoming 2021 wine-tasting experience. Come and join us for an evening which will kick off with an insightful discussion of South African old vines, followed by a tasting of a selection of these very special wines.
For our pièce de résistance this year we have partnered with the acclaimed Old Vine Project (OVP), the regulatory authority that is at the forefront of promoting, protecting and growing our national old vineyards. The OVP strives to renew South Africa’s focus on the quality grapes grown from old vines and the unique wine quality that they produce. Join us as we meet alumnus and project manager, André Morgenthal, to discuss the necessity of preserving SA’s old vines and their importance in premium wine production.
We have also invited a select group of OVP certified wine producers to our Homecoming celebrations. The respective winemakers will introduce the following wines: Zevenwacht Old Vine Chenin Blanc 2020, Waterford Old Vine Chenin Blanc 2019, L´Avenir Single Block Chenin Blanc 2019, Allée Bleue Black Series Old Vine Pinotage 2018 and the delectable Imvini Wethu Cinsault Pinotage 2019 to round off the experience.
