Homecoming 2021
We are sure you were looking forward to joining us in Matieland for our annual Homecoming and Family Weekend, but COVID-19 with its many waves has thrown a spanner in the works. For everyone’s safety, the Development and Alumni Relations Division has decided to host Homecoming 2021 virtually this year. But not to worry! We’re still bringing the Matie gees while you can enjoy tailormade events from the comfort of your home. See this as your chance to log on and “meet up” with the rest of your Matie family, wherever they may find themselves in the world.
Homecoming 2021: Your virtual VIP
Please join us online where you can reminisce, reconnect, and relive your wonderful student days. Who knows, you may spot yourself in our virtual photo exhibition or you could be the lucky winner of a voucher, or two, from our brand new online Maties Shop. Here’s what we have planned:
Picture this! It’s ‘lente’ in the Boland, sêr groups are serenading you, you’re enjoying the company of friends whom you haven’t seen in a while, students are showing off their sporting talents on the field, business leaders are sharing their expertise to give your career a boost and the delicious smell of braaivleis is wafting through the air…. Yes, we’re switching things up for 2021 – our annual Maties Alumni Homecoming and Family Weekend has a new date, and of course you’re invited.
From Thursday, 23 September to Saturday, 25 September 2021
We’re rolling out the maroon carpet and you have a VIP ticket to come and enjoy a range of tailormade activities at your alma mater. Gather your friends, bring your family and be part of an exciting three days during which you can reminisce, reconnect and relive your wonderful student days.
